WS.6 vs. 99 Viper

WS.6 vs. 99 Viper Ok, I'm gonna try to make this short. There is a kid in town who drives this 99 Viper, it's actually his dad's car. Well my 2 youngest brothers are still in high school with this kid, and one day the discussion of my TA and this Viper racing, came up.
This kid and his friends: That Viper is gonna ***** your brothers TA.
My bros: I don't think so. His car is modded, it should be a good race.
This kid and his friends: The only way it would be close is if he used his nitrous.
My bros: Whatever!!!
This went on and off for a year. I had actually talked to the kid about running the cars when I was swapping the automatic in the car. He said when I got done to find him. So, I did, and he backpeddled and said he couldn't race, that if his dad found out he would kill him. I told him, that's cool, and let it go. Since then I took the auto out and put the 6 speed back in. I hadn't heard much from the boy but his friends kept the **** going.
Fast forward to this past Saturday, at the car show in Henryville. This friend of a friend asked me what my friend's Mustang GT had done to it.
Me: I don't know, exhaust and probably an air intake.
The guy: Is that it? Well what does it want with this Viper over here?
Me: Probably nothing.
The guy: That's not what I heard.
Me: You've probably been listening to too many kids run their mouths.
The guy: I just heard that GT wanted some of this Viper.
Me: I've got something that'll run around that Viper. If the boy ever grows some ***** to race.
Boy in Viper: I'll race you from a roll.
Me: **** that, we do it from a dig or we don't.
Boy in Viper: Nevermind, it ain't happening.
So as I start to walk away, I'm thinkin' how good my car does from a roll and then turn quickly to tell him that I changed my mind, and I'll do a roll.
Time passes, then his dad shows up on a bike. No one would come to me, but apparently were runnin' their mouths to a couple of my friend's daughter. She came to me and said they would race but the dad was driving the Viper. More time passes. I walk over to see what they had to say, and the only guy in the group that speaks to me is a fellow LS1 driver, and we were talkin' LS1's.
So they leave. Then later the kid comes flyin' back by the school with his girl. I proceeded to give him the thumbsdown X2. He turns around and pulls back in the school. By then my buddy in a Vette had showed up and tells the kid when he pulls up, that he would race him. The boy didn't want any part of the Vette, saying, "Hell no, you'll kill me." So I then asked what he wanted racing me. Backpeddle, bullshit ensues.
So he says let me call my dad, he'd be the one doing the racing. After trying and failing to reach him the boy is leaving saying he'll send his dad back up if he gets ahold of him. I then told him, "tell your dad to hurry, we do all our killin' before dark."
Boy leaves, minutes later, his dad come's back. He says, "Let's get all this killin' done, who's first?" The viper and Vette disappear. Moments later, the Viper returns, and the guy says, "Next!" After several minutes of talking with others, I finally got some negotiations in with him. He said we could do roll, dig, it didn't matter. So we worked out a dig race, then so far down the road afterwards we would slow down and do a 20mph roll. Here's what I came up with...
Dig Race: We went off of another car flashing his lights. Both of us were spinning pretty bad. I came out and got back in the gas and managed to hook and pull out on the launch. By the end of 4th, I was almost 1.5 cars out ahead. This was just at a 1/4 mile.
1st roll race: From a 20mph roll, I was in 2nd gear, as was he. He kept running a half car up on me on the 2nd honk, so I kept back to restart. I finally honked again 1, 2, then right before the 3rd, he downshifts to 1st, I hit the 3rd honk and knew I was fucked. He was gone.
We pull off for a minute, and I asked him about doing another roll with us both in first gear. He agreed and we went to do it again. He mentioned that it was hard for him to stay beside me until the third honk. :dunno:
2nd roll race: We're side by side both in 1st. I honk 1, 2, and he pulls up about a half a car. I stayed back waiting on him to get even with me again. I try again to honk three times and on the 2nd honk he starts rolling out on me. So, I went ahead and raced him even though he took a half car out. I pulled on him but had to shut down midway thru 3rd gear due to a car coming in the distance.
3rd roll race: Same race as before, and he kept trying to leave early on me. Finally I honked 2 times and he pulled up half a car, so I held off on the third till I was beside him, honked and thru my arm forward as for him to go. We both left together and I pulled once again, about 1.5 cars ahead before I shut it down at the end of 4th gear.
So we get back in town, and he says he needs time to cool down. He said his clutch smelled like burnt hot dogs. :rofl: By then I had proved my point. I made a point to show him that my nitrous panel wasn't hooked up, so there was no way I sprayed him.
Me: You can touch my bottle if you want, it's cold.
Viperguy: Yeah cause you been using it.

The guy in the Viper went on to tell us, a bunch of BS about who he is and what he's got. I don't think anyone cared much, cause he left shortly after.

Trans Am defeats Viper from a dig.

I break the hearts of a dozen high school kids.

450hp/490tq, 3500lbs: Needs the driver mod to perform as it should. I think vipers have long gear too(3:07), which doesnt help; but they have nice top speed..
I can see it happening if the the T/A is around +-400rwhp...

Handicapping cars is so ******* lame. Some people need to grow a pair.
