Default Lt1 Ws6 Vs Duramaxx

.....Well one of my good buddies has a 06' Duramaxx extended cab shortbox He has Full exhaust, CAI, Edge Juice..Well i dont know if anyone here has ridden in one but they are very quik for a fullsize truck, im pretty sure it could run high 13's. But anyway i was on my way to work this morning and he was also, somehow we got lucky and got a red light, he spooled up the turbo and when it went green all i got was a puff of black smoke in my window, I have an m6 so i didnt want to dump the clutch well i Surprisingly caught up to him by the time i was almost redlined in 2nd my nose was at his door, once i hit 3rd i put a good car length on him we raced to about 80. Was my 1st race againsnt anything with my car so i was pretty excited. Anybody know what the durmaxx runs in the quarter mile? I know with the edge juice its over 600 Torque at the wheels.

Watch out for diesels off the line at an 1/8th track, they'll catch you by surprise.

He should be in the high 13's with the mods you listed, good job on the rundown.
Yeah I love unhooking the car trailer at the track and making a couple of high 7 sec passes(1/8) with my Powestroke. Not near as fast as the car but almost as much fun!LOL!

He's going to be making more than 600lbft at the rear wheels. I've got a buddy with a short bed reg cab with the Duramax. He's only got 5" full exhaust and the juice edge. He got it dynoed last week and put down ~450whp and 797lbft at the wheels. The truck will haul some ***. I can never get him to race me though.

Torque monsters. The 2006 and later are rated at 350hp & 650ft.lbs (at about 2000rpm) and the tuners can add over 120hp & 250ft.lbs. to that. They weigh a few tons though Scary going into corners too fast after driving the camaro for a while.

Edge Juice, Full Exhaust, And a CAI is NOT a high 13 second truck kids.

But you do need to watch out. They can get pretty crazy. Buddy of mine has an 04 with 537HP and 1080TQ at the wheels on the stock turbo and damn near stock fuel system.

The big diesels can be badazz. They can leave in 4WD for traction then switch it off on the fly after they get off the line. Good kill.

I'd beg to differ. A buddy of mine had a SCSB duramax with CAI, Programmer, and exhaust and he was running 13's all day.

Edge juice is a programmer.....One of the best ones you can buy...its edge juice with attitude goes up to level 6 but level 6 costs another $100 to get the code. What do you think it is?

^It was a pre programmed "chip" with different stages. An actual programmer im thinking of is your own tuning. Maybe i was wrong thanks for correcting me. But no way around here that is a 13 second truck. I litterally raped my friends 04 dmax with Edge Juice/CAI/4 1/2 Straight pipe from a roll and dig on his stock tires.

My '04 Powerstroke runs consistent 13.40's(8.4x's - 1/8) with custom tuning, exhaust and CAI. Never ran it in the 1/4 on current nitrous jetting but it did run a 7.88@84mph in the 1/8 on a dry kit(.73 jet) My buddies LBZ Dmax with EFI live, exhaust and CAI runs 13.70's(Independent front susp. hurts hard launches)

They can be pretty nasty with very little work. There is a local duramax that tears up a lot of cars.

Note that they NOT good 1/4mi/mph racers. They kill out of the hole with 4wd + a lot of tq, but their size/weight/aeros kills them at speed.

04 duramaxx's Dont have the power the lbz's have , his dad has an 04 and yes its much slower then his 06. Where i live we have Road called highway 100 where people go and streetrace, we took his Dmax there and Killed many mustangs, Civics, Ran a camaro and lost by about a 2 car( yes it was ls1). I think some of you are underestmating the power that these trucks have.

Hmm weird. My friends 530HP 1080TQ DMax only runs 8.7 in the 1/8th. He has a Built Trans/Converter, CAI, 4 1/2" Straight Pipe, Lift Pump, and Tuned on a SuperChips programmer. Like i said maybe its a little harder to run good times around here? Not to sure.
