First, take the caps lock off . All you need to make the C5's fit is to have 17"+ rims and cut a tab off the spindle. I have it and it is not a bad upgrade. For the money it's hard to beat. I'm not sure if the later style firehawk rims had a problem but I know some of the LT1's had issues with big brake upgrades. The best thing would be to call the company you plan on buying this from (UMI would be a good option).

I have heard that c6 rotors w/ cts-v calipers work on iv gen f-body's, how true is that?

I also made a noob assumption when I got my 400 rwhp setup that I'd also need bigger brakes to complement more power. At this point I'd say giving your car more power doesn't really assume a need for bigger braking power. It should be independent.

What would call for more braking power would be if you plan to brake from really high speeds. If your just doing drag passes, autox, or driving like an idiot on the highway, then stock brakes with upgraded pads, fresh fluid, and good quality blank rotors are sufficient. If your doing some intense road racing, then bigger brakes are probably something you'd want to look into.

So no you don't really need c5 or c6 brakes. Though c5 brakes look nice, especially the red z06 calipers. Id only do the c5 brakes if I wanted good looks or if doing intense road racing, though that's just my opinion

Hello,

If you can purchase all the C5 components you would just then need the adapter brackets which we can help with. I posted a link below to some information on doing the swap, please take a look. Our brackets will also work with the C6 brakes... you need at 18" wheels and I am not sure which ones won't work.

Hope that helps!

You'll also need the c5 adapter brackets which will add a little more to the price. They are typically between 250-280 bucks. Lots of places offer them. I'd personally go with the trackbrackets judging from the research I've done on the different types. Just make sure your getting the right bracket. There are different types, for instance there are some that use the c5 rotors but you use your stock calipers with them.
