Default Mother F-ing tq arm mount!!!

Am I cursed or something?

I bought this 00 Firehawk a few weeks ago, and it has a vibration when taking off from a stop but it will go away if you slip the clutch just right. Well, my old Formula had the same problem and it was the tq arm mount.

So, i bought a poly bushing to replace the stock one, and when I went to take off the stock clamshell, it is welded shut.... I dont know why, but it is.

So I put up a wanted thread for a stock tq arm mount, and bought it from Beaflag VonRathburg. Well I go to put it on today, and its not the same mount as mine.

Do different year cars have different mounts? Or im thinking it might be from an A4 car or something...do they have different mounts?

That welded up one isn't right either. It should have a long bolt welded to it too.

Did the old one have three bolts holding it on?

I really don't think they are different, between the m6 and a4.

the old one only had the one short bolt on it, i think it used to be long and was cut...

I'm sorry that one didn't work. I just found this because I searched my name. I can't use my most recent topics on this computer (because it sucks ***) and this thread came up. I didn't know they were different or if they were which one you needed. Let me look around my friend's shop for a 6 speed one. If I find one I will ship it to you for free. The other one I have is off of another automatic so that wouldn't help you.

If you've ever had to replace a torque mount because your arm busted out of the POS you'd understand WTF someone welded that one up. They shortened the bolt to make it serviceable with the transmission still up in the tunnel, otherwise you have to drop the transmission down far enough to slide that long bolt out. You can probably use that one if you want.

well there was only one bolt besides that short bolt holding the mount to the tranny. The bushing itself doesnt look too bad. I think the vibration might be the mount not being fully secured because it didnt have all the bolts...but now i have a new bushing and want to just replace it.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't skimp on the fasteners either.

How much work is it to drop the tranny enough? I mean, I have taken trannys out for clutch swaps...but do I need to drop the whole damn thing for this stupid mount?
