Default Damged Torque arm bushing

HEllo i own a 1998 Pontiac trans-am.I noticed when i try to hit the pedel a little harder then normal i hear a vibration under my shifter.I have A4 TRANNY.I looked under my car and noticed my torque arm bushing was trashed.What are the causes of Damged torque arm Bushings?Does Damaged Torque arm Bushings Effect Et Time?I just order A poly urathane Torque arm bushing.IS it hard to change?How much will it cost to change The torque Arm bushing?

Poly bushing isn't hard to change.. and recommended.

You'll basically have to grind off the rivets that hold on the rubber pieces. Clean up "cam shell" with a file, then reinstall using the poly mount.

It can be done with Jack stands. You want the rear in the air. But, I prefer to do it on a lift.

Remove the TA, then take off the TA mount. Take off the rubber pieces.

No, you don't need a rivet gun.

Where did you get the Poly bushing/mount?

Most our sponsors sell the bushings.

You reuse your stock bracket.

I do believe on a A4 you need to lower the rear of the tranny, I think at least one of the bolts that holds the bushing bracket in place is to long to remove without lowering the tranny. Here's a link that shows how to seperate the bracket, http://www.bmrfabrication.com/instructions/ta001.htm .
