Default Anyone using the Anthony Jones K member?

Saw a pic of one over the weekend. Cost is around $530 or so. Chromemoly is an option. Just wondering how the fit is, and more importantly the weight.

The AJRE K-member is a quality piece!

I had one, but sold it before I installed it.

I eventually went with a BMR because I liked the motor mounts and the arms better.

Local shop guys asked me if I wanted one, AJ racing, or something...looked around and found nothing. They claim his package, K member, control arms upper and lower, shocks and brakes removes 200lbs, so A J has stated. Very interested to see this piece. Any links?

Charlie.

No way do I believe it removes 200 lbs. I saw a little interview with him on Speedvision and that was what he said then. I've got a BMR k-member (not installed), and I've seen the BMR control arms, you aren't gonna get much lighter then those. Lets say 40 lbs for all that, then 10 lbs for very light shocks (Hals or Afcos), and then MAYBE 50 lbs for Strange race brakes. You are still only looking at 100 lbs off the front end.

Don't see how you could save 200 pounds. I don't think the factory k member, a-arms, struts and springs weight that much total.

Just don't get a PA (Performance Automotive). Nothing but problems with mine. They still owe me $20 for parts I had to buy to make it work. Which included another rod end.

Actually, the BMR control arms are the heaviest (beefiest) I've seen. BUT, I think they are the best choice for a street car.

The full AJE setup your talking about also gets rid of the iron spindle mounts and it also eliminates the upper control arms. Not sure exactly what they weigh, but all that stuff can't be light.

If you combined the struts, K member, arms, brakes and all the stuff that gets removed... I could see how that adds up to a ~200lbs reduction.

I agree that the BMRs are beefier in some spots then others, but no more then 5 pounds worth I don't think. I remember now about it changing the front suspension instead of just replacing parts, but I still don't believe you're gonna get another ~100 lbs. out of upper control arms and spindles.

So has anyone actually run this K-member to know how reliable it is?

I've met AJE and AJE jr at a few trade shows. Quality stuff.

But I told him before there is no way the weight drop is 200 lbs. His son sort of blinked but they stuck to their guns.

There is no way.

John, you have any contact info for him? I have searched but find nothing. If I can get ahold of him, I can get pricing, and possibly order.

Thanks,
Charlie.

Thanks John.

Emailed for package price on all but the brakes and shocks, as I just got my new HAL Series "R" fronts. (really wish they would not name things in such ricer terms as series R..)
