Default how to make my 84 camaro handle drag/track

Hi ls1 tech guys,

What is the best way to make my 84 Camaro Z28 handle on the circuit track and on the drag strip, is there a compromise, what suspension parts do I need ?

Thumbs up A few ideas for you!

Hello
I would recommend going with a set of sub frame connectors to help the chassis solid and I would recommend a Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm seeing how you are going to be doing a lot of racing and it gets the arm off the rear of the trans so you don't have to worry about breaking the rear housing. And I would also suggest going with a set of LCA and relocation bracket to increase your traction and eliminate any wheel hop. Below is a link to show you what UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks

Hello, just to give you another option i would go with a full length adjustable torque arm, torque arm relocation bracket, frame connectors, adjustable panhard bar, lower control arms, and possibly control arm relocation brackets. Upgrading these parts will reduce flexing in the chassis and the suspension pieces. You will gain consistancy and better performance in all areas. We offer several different versions of each part. If you would like to give me a call we can discuss which parts would be the best for your situation. Our tech dept is open till 6pm est. mon-fri.

There is definitely a compromise if you want to go hardcore in both directions. How serious are you in either, and which one would you say is a priority? For one thing, a decently competitive drag setup is going to be terrible for the road track. Maybe borderline unsafe? A minor road race or autox setup can work out ok at the drag strip with a few turns of the front shocks, disco front swaybar endlink, and swap wheels/tires.

There's a long list of parts you could change and they have their pros and cons for each application. This sounds like a long homework assignment and will require you to decide what you consider will be the happy medium for performance in both sports.
