i just bought some new rotors and pads for the front of my firebird and ever since i put them on they have been grinding. At first it was really bad but its was getting a little better after about 10 miles,it only grinds bad when i press on the brake. anybody know what this could possibly be?

Maybe the Pads and Rotors needed to be broken in? What brand are the components?

BTW, did you replace the brake pad shims? aka the brake hardware kit? The ones from autozone always grind. I've had better luck with the ones from NAPA.

Exactly, if any of the ped retainer clips end up touching the rotor, you can get a horrible grind/squeal from the brakes.

That's what I was thinking. Waiting to see what the new CTS-V brakes and pads will sound like when I first get them on.
