When I go to push the pedal down sometimes I will have hardly any braking power whatsoever. Sometimes it will work then fade off. Does this just mean my brakes need to be bled?

Also I have a set of eibach sportlines I want to install, is there an install guide on this forum that I can look at? "haven't found one yet". Do I need a spring compressor for the front?
