Default master cylinder

How hard is it to replace the master cylinder, and how much do they usually cost? My brakes starting screwing up and i bled them today. no luck. Pretty sure its the master cylinder.

thanks

It's not too bad, I just changed mine the other night. It's a pretty straightforward process and it takes longer to bleed all the calipers than it did to change the m.c. out. I got a new raybestos for $143.

Changing it out won't be bad, just disconnecting the brake lines and the two nuts to pull it off the booster. You will need to bleed the brakes afterwards though.

Don't you have to take it to the dealer to activate the ABS system solenoids and bleed through the ABS system to properly elimate all the air in the lines?
