yeah we kind of need a better defenition of your type of racing. If your into road racing around a track and have the extra cash laying around, I would say a set of Hoosier R3SO3's would be king. But there are other cheaper alternatives.

the F1 is a good street tire but not something I would want to get to overly hot on the road course with. I was on a set of F1's during 2 Silver State Classic races and they held up fine Averaging 145mph and 150mph with 165mph cruising speeds over the 90 miles. But there isnt a whole lot of side load during those runs.

I will agree with Mitch on this one. I run at STUPID speeds on a 2 lane highway in the Open Road events. But we have a close road during the run. Even with that in mind there are still a TON of variables that come into play, more than could ever be expected on a road course.

Tires are designed to do certain things. True racing tires are not meant to be on the street. There are tires out there that provide a happy medium inbetween both road and track. And there are tires that are good on the street that dont amount to *** on the track.

You do the math and roll the dice. I know and have seen with my own eyes what happens when a car has a blow out at 160+ mph. You ready to run that risk?

Sorry to sound like a **** but this is a "road racing" forum, not street racing forum. We here do frown on street racing (generally speaking). Go talk to the boys in the street racing forum......I am sure they have ALL the experiance about good tires for high speed running
