SFC's

Who makes the Lightest Sub Frame connectors, What's the best?

I am looking at Spohn Chromoly 2 pt weld in, BMR steel weld in 2pt, and UMI 3pt weld in/SLP 3 pt weld in (umi comes powdercoated and has moly option)

Thoughts? suggestions?

TTop M6 car.

I have UMI 2pt tubular. I bought mine a few years back. Mine are std mild steel. I know now UMI offers chrome molly which will be lighter. UMI has chrome molly 3pt option also. I loved my UMI sfc's. All my suspension components are UMI and I love all of it. Great quality. As far as 2pt or 3pt being better I don't know but I'm sure someone else will.

thx for the opinion. The Only UMI I have is my moly stb, everything else is moly BMR
its pretty much between the Spohn moly 2pt and UMI 3pt moly unless the SLP steel are better.

I have SLP 3 pt weld ins in both my cars and I love them they weigh about 35#s - 40#s for the pair so their not going to be as light as moly but the way they tie the whole car together is great. My cars are dd so I'm not to worried about the extra 35- 40 pounds.

I have bmr evrything but i think they all do the same at getting the job done. I would go with the cheapest one because all three companies are proven to work.Whatever you do do not get any type of bolt in versions because after a while they destroy the bolt holes so bad until you will have to ge them welded in eventually.

The difference in weight between decent SFCs and the lightest you can buy is less than the weight of taking a healthy dump. . . .

Get GOOD ones.

RiceEaterZ Aug 3, 2009 04:36 AM

Good as in? SLP steel weighs 35+ reportedly, and Spohns' 2pt weigh 13lbs for the pair.
no idea on chromoly umi 3pt.

I think I'm going to grab the Spohn.

Hello, our weld in tubular version SFC004 weigh 15lbs per pair, the boxed weld ins SFC001 weigh 26 lbs per pair.

RiceEaterZ Aug 3, 2009 09:36 AM

do you offer them in chromoly?

UMI Sales Aug 3, 2009 09:48 AM

Hello
UMI Performance does offer there 3 pointers in Mild Steel (38lbs) & Chrome moly(34lbs). And our 2 point SFC are Mild Steel (28lbs) & Chrome moly (24lbs) If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad:D

Sorry Edit- 3-Points are 35lbs mild steel and 31lbs in Chrome Moly.

thanks guys, now that I have all the data, its time to decide :)

2pt moly/2pt boxed, I am assuming the added strength of moly tubular will level the field (and match the rest of my stuff) with larger boxed mild steel sfcs?

shipping is nuts on 3pt!!
