Default Brakes from WS6 Store

http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=1598

My brakes need replaced but funds are low at the moment.

Good experiences buying these brakes from them? Are they good?

I have them and they are crap, theyve only been on for a few thousand miles and they make a lot of noise and chew threw pads

I can also already see hairline cracks from each drill hole

Slotted and drilled rotors are a gimic, they really dont do much if anything but chew your break bads a little quicker (not much) and look nice.

Unless you spend a lot of cash on brakes, dont bother with slotted and drilled

Brembo blanks is all you need.

+1 most of drilled holes in rotors are drilled in after the rotor is made, which leads to cracks.

some good ones are cast with the holes in them and tend not to crack as fast as ones that i mentioned above.

either way its just for looks.

if you want something really good buy SS brake lines, hp + pads, brembo blanks, and ate super blue brake fluid.

and if you need a rebuild on your stock calipers do that to

+1!

Except I'd recommend HPS's vs. the HP+'s. I've run both and for me the HPS are so much easier to modulate at the limit. I've even run HP+'s front and HPS rears in order to take out some rear bias. This worked great, but still, the HP+'s on just the front are pretty touchy and it's too easy to get into the ABS prior to fully transferring the weight forward and realizing maximum braking force.

Second, HP+'s can glaze over and need to be "roughed up" with some scotch brite to make them perform like new.

For a street drive D/D you can get by on the autozone parts. You may notice some reduction in initial bite, but if it's autozone or nothing and you car needs brakes now or you can't get to work, then go autozone or any of the other box stores. It's not like they are gonna blow up and send you to a fiery death or anything.

stay away from duralast, they're worse than stock.

I love my slotted ate rotors and hps pads. They are WAY better than stock.

I definitely agree with staying away from drilled. For me slotted or blanks.

Im in the same boat, my rotors are under minimum tolerance and need replaced but dont have much cash. Probably just gonna end up with some from autozone till I have the funds to get good rotors, step up to some hawk pads, and powdercoat the calipers.

Its just a DD car that plays on weekends and a few strip visits a year.

Cheap rotors from the auto parts store are garbage. They rust almost immediately, and warp badly. The larger the rotor, the worse they will be. On small cars with small rotors like Civics and such, its not too much of a problem, but when you're dealing with 12" and larger rotors in a performance application, they are extremely prone to warping.

We put rotors from Advance on my friend's Mustang when we swapped to Cobra brakes, since he didn't have the money for better rotors at the time. Within a couple weeks the rotors had warped badly enough that any moderate stop would cause the brake pedal to pulsate. And of course the center hub part of the rotor and the outer edge look like they are 10 years old with the amount of rust on them. Chinese metal is crap, don't waste your money.

For a street car go for the Wagner rotors and ThermoQuiet pads. Used this combo on many makes and models haven't had any complaints yet. Not the cheapest, but a hell of a lot cheaper than some of these "racing" parts people are running on their street cars and it will last longer too.

Looks like I'll be seriously considering some Brembo blanks and Hawk pads. All of this input is great.

i love my rotors from ws6store. car is daily driver 25k miles on hawk pads/ws6store rotor combo. no complaints here

to the guy needing rotors. you should try and get them turned instead of buying new ones if your on a budget. oreily's turns them by the way. and yea wagoner is a good name brand. i put a few duralast parts on friends cars cause thats what they wanted and bought. they squeeked like hell nad performed like complete junk. so they bought wagoner's and returned the rotors again and they have had no complaints since then.
