Strano Spring owners: I need your pictures
#43
In transit from Europe... A few weeks is about all I can say. But I will say about 25% of the batch is already pre-sold. Like always, I'd encourage folks to get their orders in sooner than later (there is no charge until the springs are ready to ship) to hold a set in your name...

The larger axle tubes make the car sit just a little higher in the back. I actually like the small amount of rake that it gives the car, The Fab 9'' works fine with the Koni`s and Strano springs. I do have some gear noise with the rear, but it`s not to bad.

I realize this is a pretty old thread, but after gathering parts over the last 4-5 years, I finally got around to installing my Strano springs, KONI Sport SA shocks, rotors, pads and stainless steel brake lines over Christmas.
I ordered this car new and it has not been driven since October of 2000. It has essentially been in storage, much of which has been spent on jack stands, since that time.
Sitting around is pretty hard on a car, particularly when no preparatory steps are taken. There is no telling how much stuff had to be replaced to get this thing running after sitting completely idle for 6-7 years, but it's getting closer to being drivable. The downside is that I've reached the age where it's a bitch getting in and out of the car, and even more so now that it's lowered.

I'm not sure there is any particular reason it sat for so long, but maybe lots of little reasons.
When I quit driving the car, I was living in Atlanta. The cat collapsed on it, I took it to Midas for repair, got it back and it was running the same way. It was essentially not drivable. It would not rev etc. I parked it, bought a Grand Cherokee, hauled the Camaro to Ky and parked it in my dad's garage. It sat there until 2006-2007 when me and my brother decided to get it out and try to get it running. It ended up needing LOTS of new stuff. In the meantime, I had moved to Michigan.
So, the biggest reason it sat for so long is probably because me and the car were rarely in the same place at the same time after I parked it. We would work on it when I was home for holidays etc.
When we got around to replacing the exhaust, I learned that Midas had not replaced my cat. They simply gutted it. A bunch of the collapsed catalyst had blown back into the exhaust, which is why it still would not run after the fact. I guess Midas didn't bother checking that, and I picked it up after hours. If so many years had not passed, I might have contacted the attorney general and let them know what I found. That's pretty $hitty business.

Except those are C5Z rear wheels, not C6.
