Default home made subframe connectors ?

Anyone done this...i have shop class with a ton of tube metal and even more boxed metal of all sizes and lengths and I figured if it was worth it to save a couple hundred bucks ?

If you have the skills, or at least a experienced instructor to help, the tools, and materials, why not? It would be a good way to gain experience and although ready made connectors aren't all that expensive, indeed save a few bucks. Just take into account that welding them in, to somewhat thin sheetmetal, needs to be done carefully......and don't forget to lift up the carpet before you start welding!
