Default SLP SFC or BMR SFC

Which one out of these two is better. If I get the SLP one, I would get the bolt in and probably weld it too.

Or is the BMR boxed better ?

The SLP subframes are a diamond type which is far superior in strength and durability to the BMR type sfc.
PS save a hundred bucks and just buy the weld on version.

I like my SLP's. I welded them in not long after buying my car new in 2002 and it is a great idea.

My thoughts.

Hahaha!!! I prefer the BMR's over the SLP's, simply because of weight issues with the SLP's

Brilliant reply... (how exactly do any SFC take it in the a..?)

Anyway, I've had on my bolt-on SFC from SLP for a long time now and they made a dramtic increase in the car's handling. Well worth the money if you don't have a friendly neighborhood welder you can trust.

I'm not going to get into which brand of SFC is best but I would recommend the SLP bolt-on's, there's no need to weld them either. Here's a link to the install. http://users3.ev1.net/~cnl1/firehawk/subframe/index.htm

SLP is what I have on my car. They also make great skid plates and protect the bottom of my lowered car .

Is that bolt-in or weld in. What's the point of getting the nicely painted one if you're going to be scraping it

I believe that you should go with the kenny brown double diamonds. I had the SLP bolt in's and i had clearance problems with my side exhaust and so i got the KBDD's b/c they tuck up so you can't even see them and they are much stiffer.

I have bolt in SLP SFC and i love them also Like was said before, great bottom end protection, plus my car is lowered You'll never see the bottom end of those SFC, all you'll see is the sides of it. So who cares about the bottom side

Wow, I hope you didn't take any classes in physics or mechanical engineering. KBDD: 1"x1" tubing along the pinch rail means 1 inch squared cross-sectional area. SLPs: 2x2 and 2x3 along pinch weld, 4-6x greater cross-sectional area. Now explain to me again how in torsion/bending KBDDs are "stiffer". I've installed a set of SFCs that weigh 0 lbs. and even better, are invisible. My car is now 500x "stiffer".

I have the BMR's boxed sfcs. I could't be happier..really makes the car feel tight and no more noises! Plus they look great. Make sure you pick the right color!

Well i had the SLP's on there and they don't even weld to the pinch welds. The KBDD's actually weld to the pinch weld which gives them better strength. I few of my friends have switch to them from SLP's and BMR's and they all have been much more satisfied with them. Having tried both i would take the KBDD's over the huge boxes on the SLP's.

i have the BMRs and am very happy with them. the BMR style frame tie has been around forever, because it has always worked. my dad has them on his 71 nova, and i can tell you that my car stock, is alot stiffer then his. i see the slp or double dimond kinda over kill, plus its more weight.

just my 2 cents

Did you read my sig? I removed KBDDs to install SLPs. I have a 1.5 ft long weld connecting the SLPs to the pinch weld so I have no idea why you couldn't figure out how?

Refer to this thread for an honest post about the differences:

Thanks for the info. Did you get the weld-in or the bolt in SFC(bolt-in welded in)
