Default New springs installed, now have banging

Well I put stock suspension springs back in the car last night and drove it today and now I have this loud banging sound coming from the front shocks whenever I hit a bump. Could this be because I didnt tighten down the struts nut on top? Any ideas? They are stock springs on Bilstein shocks

sounds like the insulators aren't there or they are in a bad way.

If that's even a question you need to go back and check. It sounds like something is loose or misaligned so just go take a look at it.

you probably didn't compress the springs enough to seat the upper mounts all the way down on top of the shocks. the shock nut is NOT enough to compress the spring, but it will seem to be tight. common mistake.

Would have to agree with it not being tight.

I had the same issue, turned out my strut mount was shot. Replaced it and everything is quiet and tight again.
