Default Anyone else have this problem with BMR k-member??

I installed a tubular K member in my car and the steering shaft doesnt line up for crap...I fully extended the shaft and it still doesnt fit flush...Also now it's kinda outta wack and is 5 times harder to turn the wheel at certain spot's as if it's hitting something...But it's not hitting anything! lol Just wondering if there is a cure for this or a reasurance that the damn shaft won't strip out on me while im cruising at 150+mph..Thank's,,

My friend (bluestreak98) also had that exact same problem when his was installed. I think what they did was take his car to an alignment shop to see if they could fix the problem. I'm not totally sure on this,so try PMing him.

Yeah, that's the first question.. have you had it alighed yet?

I tried to "field align" mine.. It was still a country mile off.

Remember, it's likely the camber, caster and toe in are all off.

Yep, I had the same problem. It seemed like the steering shaft wasn't long enough. I had to bolt the steering shaft up first, then bolt the rack to the K-member. It seemed that the rack mounting tabs were about an 1/8" off on my K-member.

My shaft didn't fit.Looked at BMR's web site and noticed the tabs were welded too low.Called BMR and they 3 day'd a new K-member to me.The second one fit perfect. They also sent a return label.
