Default Need to raise the car up a little bit

I have a 2000 SS with the Pro kit, after the install of my MWC 9 inch, the car seems to bottom out really bad even on the the smallest of bumps. I was wondering if there was a alternative to buying new springs for the rear, just want BANG BANG BANG to stop. The rear islators are still in the car.

Any ideas. Maybe a spacer between the bottom of the spring and rear end? Or stop being a cheap *** buy some strano rear springs. LOL

what shocks do you have? if you're still on the stock shocks, i'd consider upgrading, it just may take care of the issue.

as for raising the rear, you can either get different springs, or you can add a spacer between the rear & the bottom of the spring....either way should work just fine.

i don't know of anyone that makes a pre-fabbed spacer, although that's not to say they don't exist...i just don't know of any.

probably your best bet would be to go to a local machine shop and have them make some for you.

Reverse heater hose mod, add some heater hose to the top and bottom of your springs, should give you 3/4". It's a easy and cheap.

sorry, there's no way a piece of heater hose wrapped around the top coil is gonna give you 3/4". MAYBE 1/4" - 3/8" at MOST.

now, if you put a larger piece of hose over that one, then maybe 3/4", but there's no way with just one piece

The bottom of the spring is designed to sit over the mounts on the axle to keep it from popping out. IDK how it would do with a spacer on it. Taller springs would be safer I'd think.

Sean, it's the TQ arm hitting the bottom tunnel of the car more than likely; not the car bottoming out like you think....

Well the axles is literally riding on the bump stops, and the torque arm has a 1.5 inches before it contacts the tunnel, so I think it is a little of both and it is freaking annoying.

I think that Moog makes a "cargo coil" for the rear of the F-bodies. Could be an inexpensive and easy to obtain solution....

Well Sam Strano is out, racing this week so I am think I am just going to get his rear springs that are 1.2 lower in the rear.

If i cut the bump stops off the Tq will slam into the body that would just cause more problems
