Default LS1 steering shaft on LT1

My LT1 steering shaft was shot, the joints on it were worn out. I had an LS1 steering shaft laying around so I decided to swap em. I always heard the LS1 steering shafts would bolt right in the LT1, but it set my steering wheel 90 degrees off. I know I can have it aligned and hopefully have enough adjustment to fix it. But has anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks

Yes the LS1 shaft is clocked differently. The best way to correct that is to remove the one end from the shaft and clock it properly. There are pics on here somewhere. You'll find that the steering doesn't feel right if you leave it because the angles of the u-joints bind up.
