Default springs

would stock springs from an 01 ws6 fit on my 96 t/a? and if so, would they make that much of a difference?

They will fit, but I wouldn't swap them. The LS cars had softer springs on them due to the decrease in weight from the aluminum motor.

Your best bet would be to get some Hotchkis or similar springs if your looking for a good performance oriented ride.

You can purchase here if you decide:

When you checkout use the coupon code "freetech" to receive free shipping on your order.

What are you trying to change about your car?

well i am not looking to make a race car, and i am not looking to lower the car. i was just thinking the springs have over 100k on them and i was changing the shocks, so i figured i would get a new set of springs to go with it. i have read places that say the ws6 shocks are more firm, but i did not get anything concrete telling me they were better or worse.

Springs aren't really a wear item, so your stockers should be fine. I'd only really change the springs if you're trying to lower the car or increase performance some.

If you're happy with your ride the way it is, keep the stock springs. A shock upgrade will make more of a difference with your ride.

As far as ws6 shocks being more firm, I don't know about that. The only big difference I think is the 32 vs. 30 mm sway bar, but I don't know if that's the same on 93-97 cars.

They only reason why the WS6 springs would be stiffer, is if they were the 1LE springs. You will have to check part numbers and/or count the coils and confirm that they are 1LE's or just plain jane run of the mill LSx springs.

Shocks will however make the biggest difference for you.
