Hit a curb at full lock in the rain @ 20mph
I was going around a tight bend that I rarely go around. It was raining and I was overconfident. I now have a very broken 2000 Z28.
It hit on the drivers side. When it hit, I felt the car give. The symptoms are:
Wheel squeaks going in a straight line at roughly one squeak per revolution.
Wheel is toed out and has positive camber where it used to have neutral camber.
Steering is very weird. It used to be tight, now when you turn it's tight while you turn the wheel but as soon as you stop the car keeps turning by itself! You have to crank the wheel about 1/5-1/4 turn (72-90 degrees) to keep the car in a straight line.
Steering is completely numb.
I'll be having it towed to a shop soon. Any guesses as to what I broke?

^ What these guys said, plus rim, maybe shock if fr lca bent, steering rack?. Nothing that can't be fixed. As long as the mounting points have'nt shifted too much, you just have to replace parts (expensive still, I know) . Hopefully these parts "gave" to protect your frame fro being tweaked. Put it on a hoist with a trustworthy mechanic. Remember safety is a concern when making repairs ie your mechanic should'nt just do the min. bc you're a friend etc. Let us know, GL, hope she's OK!
