Ouch! Looks like it must have been a flaw in the casting -they're cheap sand castings. Good luck!

I cant even begin to figure out how that happened. And how did the bracket break between the bolt holes? Thats a puzzling one.

They should be the same as a C4 corvette bracket. Might be able to get one at the parts store, take your broken one in, then compare the two.

The bracket likely failed when a caliper bolt came out and pushed the caliper into the wheel when the brackes were applied. This will put all of the force on 1 side of the bracket resulting in the carnage shown.

I am willing to bet that both caliper bolts were not found. I've had a caliper bolt to bracket bolt fall out and the caliper come up like yours in the past, if it locked into the rim the bracket will fail, but in my case it was not a bracket failure, but a bolt that fell off. Fortunately mine was at very low speeds and did not lock up, just a funny sound that I was able to correct in the auto parts store parking lot at 10:00 at night.

i thought i had both the bolts, but when i went out and checked i couldn't find the second one anywhere.. i do have one of them though, but i guess i'm with slow on that's how it happened. makes a lot of sense now! lock washers and extra loctite on EVERYTHING! lol

called up pbr directly today, they were very helpful and said they didn't have a way to charge me for it so they're sending me a new bracket free of charge! awesome customer service!!
