UPDATE: Scanning with the Snap-On MT2500 scan tool was a bust the first time, there was so much info to see that we didn't know where to start. This morning the car finally threw the ABS Inop light, so now the scanning should be able to pull up a code. Hopefully this points me toward the culprit. More updates soon!

3 channel or 4 channel car?
With the scann tool I would focus on the wheel speed sensors.
I havent used a 2500 red brick in years though.
If you can eliminate the other data perameters & just watch WSS do this.
It will give you a faster refresh rate of the 'watched' data parameters.

I have seen many wheel speed sensors fail over the years.
Have also had partially bad worn/loose hubs that caused weird issues under hard braking.

Drive it & have someone watch the scan tool under those ABS conditions.
See if there is a WSS dropping off quicker or erratic under braking/while the condtion occurs.

But all this assumes that there are no other external issue influencing the WSS input.

It's a 4 channel car, but scanning for live data is no longer necessary. The ABS Inop light caused an ABS code to get triggered, and we were able to read that. Looks like my right-front wheel speed sensor is on the fritz. I will replace the hub soon and report back with my results.
