Why do I need to unhook the ac??? But on the subject. After I had my SLP SCFs welded in, I read somewhere that the weight of the car should actually be on the wheels when it is welded (not the lift points of the chassis). I can't imagine how a welder would get at it that way, or how you would feel the difference. As is, the stiffer frame is definitely noticeable when you 1st drive the car again with SFCs. leave the carpets & ac alone. |
^^^ YES! I thought the suspension needed to be loaded to weld on the connectors??? |

I have welded a dozen sets on and never had to remove anyone's carpet. Many different name brands also. I do it in the driveway with 2x12 home made ramps under the wheels to get the car up 2 2x12 thicknesses. Some of the super low cars need to go up another 2x12 for belly clearance though. :D but wheels need to be down with the weight on them on level ground. Drive on racks are the best for the install. |
