Default laugh if you want, but...

So I just got the trailer hitch on the car, I know, laugh it up, but I gotta get my little boat around somehow, but who runs air shocks? I'm thinking about finding a set for my car, just cause the fishin boat has around 100lbs on the tongue, and I'm gonna have a lot of stuff in the car, going home to Ohio, then bringing the boat back here to Washington. The car squats already with only some stuff in the back, just kicking around ideas here...I guess the question is who likes what, and what is recommended...who even makes 'em for our cars? I figure they'd be good too at the track, just air 'em down. TIA...

Gabriel makes them I ran a set on a old 3rd gen and aird up to fit my slicks on (yeah ghetto I know) but it worked great. Ride was crappy but with a home mad later bar rear suspension that was expected.

I installed Gabriels last month, with Hotchkiss springs the
ride is smoother than the Bilstein rears but the handling
is excellent in my opinion (no compromise from Bilsteins
as far as I've had occasion to push it). There is a post
I put up here right after and links to some pics. There
was another guy who did it first and I liked the idea, it
has turned out well for me. Gabrial HiJackers at AutoZone,
like $59 a pair and I got an extra air line for drag bias
capability (for that one trip a year to the track...).

Dude, putting a trailor hitch on a Camaro is about as bad as running a 10 foot wing on a Civic.....

Actually, most autocrossers (and many open trackers) pull a small trailer for their wheels, jack, tools, air tank and the other assorted accessories needed for a day at the track (pads, rotors, tools). I don't think the autocross/open track guys are fans of the "mondo wing" crowd, nor do they drive like little old ladies. I always thought that trailer hitches were for pick up trucks, but I'd rather pull a trailer than stuff dirty wheels and tools inside my car.

So, basically, a 10 foot wing on a Civic has no use, a trailer hitch on a Camaro has a purpose and often, it involves "going fast".

I don't see why anyone would be laughing.....

We used to use them on the test car, but discovered that autos are not built to carry much weight on the shock mounts. They tend to break. Air bags don't have that problem.

Have any of you seen the hitches that come off. I had one on my Camaro back in the day. It simply had a shaft comming back to the hitch that you could disconnect and presto... hitch no more.
It was pretty cool.
