Default stock brake system bad?

When I bought this car the braking was horrible, so I bought drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads and all new slide pins front and rear, replaced them all and braking got a decent amount better. However I feel like the brake system is still very poor considering the amount of power and weight the brakes have to stop... Is this just stock brakes in general or do I have another problem? Brake pedals firm, no noise and fluid level is fine

When you replaced the pads and rotors, did you level out your pads? (ie. put the pad face down on concrete and go back and forth to get the pad face flat or did you just slap the pads on?) Also, did you bead the pads in (40-5mph hard on the brakes 5 times).

Also, what tires are you running? Tires make a huge difference in braking power because if your tires don't grip, it doesn't matter how good your brakes are.

Shocks are important too, as you know the stock deCarbons suck.

I love oem pads on F bodys. As long as they are bedded properly they work pretty well. If your gonna be stopping hard a lot I'd upgrade the pads.

Ceramic pads typical characteristics are less dust with the tradeoff of less braking power.
