Default strange shocks question

So i just picked up some used shocks off a local guy, and i noticed that the strange shocks do not automatically come up / rebound after compressing them as my bilstiens would. i press the strange shock all the way down and it stays down unless i pull it back up. is that how these shocks are?

and also, when comparing my eibach rear coil springs to my stock rear coil springs i noticed the eibachs are a lot more softer then the stocks. the stocks are a bit firmer. i hear people say use the stock coil springs in the rear for drag racing but wouldnt u want a softer coil spring in the rear? so shouldnt i just leave the eibachs in?

A gas charged shock will extend due to the pressure in the shock. A standard shock stays where you put it. So, no worries there.

Do you know which Eibach spring you have?

Guys I need urgent help... Top "stud" (black one) on one of my Strange SA shocks broke when I torqued down spring mount (about 37lbs). What is the thread size on the shock shaft? Looks like 9/16 18TPI, ciould that be correct? I'm not that good into US thread sizes...
