Default Big cam? Car stops like garbage?

I drove a stock ss last week with the same pads/ rotors as me and it was much more responsive and stopped way better. I also have braided lines and ate fluid where as this car didn't. I do however have a decent sized cam in my 416. Anyone had this negatively effect their braking? Or do I have another issue?

Big cam= shitty vacuum. You might want to look into getting a vacuum reservoir.

It's night and day. I can't think they were just bedded better. Anyway to check the master cylinder or brake booster?

How decent? What kind of vacuum? Between my "decent" cam and my intake, I went hydroboost.

It's 247/254 .623, .623 114+4 but it's in a 416. I downloaded a pdf on how to check a booster. If that checks out idk where to look next.

I have 10" of vacuum at idle and my car stops fine. I actually prefer the stiffer pedal compared to the overboosted cars.

My pedal if anything feels softer. Like I have to mash my foot through the floor when trying to stop "hard"

Soft pedal? Its possible you may need the brakes bleed with the Tech-2 or any other scan tool that communicates and commands solenoids in the ABS system. Commanding the ABS Solenoids open and forcing high buildup pressure in the modulator out the solenoids will remove all air in the system. Sometimes air is trapped in the ABS Module and cant be bleed out with normal pedal push bleeeding.
Just another thought on your delema

I actually am not using the abs anymore with the 28" tires in the rear so I will finally get around to removing that module and see if that helps. Any way to keep the service vehicle light off after I unplug it?

For the ABS light, no. either need to remove the bulb or just pull the cluster and put electric tape behind the overlay.

Not the abs light. I already pulled that. The actual "servive vehicle" light comes on when I unplug it.

Big cams will have a big impact on engine vacuum. Use a scan tool to monitor MAP kPa and I'm sure it's in the 65-70 range at idle. Also ceramic brake pads are softer than a semi-metallic pad and will cause a softer pedal.

I ordered the sjm abs delete today and will install that and test the booster this week. As well as measure my vacuum at idle. Heres hoping its the abs module.

Interested in the results. I have a 235/240 111 in my 346, and my sisters stock motor Formula (with same rotors and pads) stops way better. I've tried bleeding mine twice, the 2nd time after I made the ABS trigger - it still sucks

Great advice. I believe a 94 Ford astrovan has the hydroboost you need. Run a couple brake lines and your good to go.
