Wow lot of responses guys thanks!!

Thanks Kevin from BMR, I was wondering what the difference between the slp and HD bilsteins. I will deffinitely go for HD Bilsteins.

Now I just need to make up my mind on springs. Does any body have a list of the spring rates for different manufacturers lowering springs?

I dont have anything bad to say about the Eibach besides ride quality. Maybe its because I'm only a V6 (a little lighter), however I have never had any problems with sag.

I have thought seriously about Strano springs. Which lowering spring would you guys use for the best possible ride?

There are a number of things in error on that list. In my case while the rear springs do have a 100 pound rate, it's only a tender rate (fully compressed with the weight of the car on it, out of play in terms of any kind of working rate).

Also the list is misleading, because some of the progressive springs there are truly progressive though the range, others are more like what I do and the soft end goes dead.

As for figuring out a good suspension, well you can give me a call and we can talk about it. I'm sorry, but trying to do it by e-mail or forums is just not a very good way to communicate details. And frankly there is no one answer, because people's wants do vary. If it was as simply as most thing "I want my car to handle better", well then everyone could do this.

As for my springs. I think if you ask around you'll find that a number of folks have mine and like the ride. Some have swapped from other springs (which are softer on that chart) and found the ride better. Again the list can be misleading. Soft spring that put you on the bumpstops hard, don't ride as well as a stiffer spring with more support. Kinda like a bed that's "soft", that might hurt your back if you aren't supported properly.

Sry I just found that list posted on some other forum. I have decided on shocks. But I'm still unsure if I am going to do springs...

If those numbers are accurate, well, wow, I didn't realize that stock springs were that much softer compared to most others.

Does anyone have part numbers for bilstein factory replacement springs? My wife's v6 is completely stock, but the ride feels harsh. It's just a cruising car, so I'm looking to make the car smooth, and not bang every bump. I can find HD shocks, but springs are confusing me.

Bilstein doesn't make springs. And factory springs will get softer over time with wear, not get stiffer.

If the car is still on stock shocks, just getting a good set will make a big difference. Then all new rubber bushings for the most comfort and call it a day. Anything more and you'll just increase NVH most likely. These cars will never ride real smooth however. An fbody is no Cadillac no matter how much you try, unless you totally reengineer the entire suspension perhaps.

Is there anyplace that sells stock ride height spring but just stiffer? or even just stock springs, im sure these 10 year old ones have softened up a bit. I am gonna go with the bilstens on the strut replacement.

I'm not sure what the spring rate is but Moog has CC635 for rear springs and the 60114 for the Z28 and 60116 for the SS front springs (not sure why the difference).
