I had the Eibach ProKit installed not to long ago and quickly learned my left rear bump stop was toast every time I approached a not so smooth bridge. Loud bang. replaced it and noticed that I have approximately 1/4" space between the bump stop and the axle. I can feel it hitting the bump stops with just minor imperfections or lowerings in the highway. Is this normal? If it is Id rather have the not so cool look of the stock ride height, handled much better.
I do still have the stock Bilsteins (106k mi) but they seem ok...?
Also my ride height is 27" in the front and 26-7/8" in the back...

Common Eibach problem with our cars is the rear spring sag. Did you buy the springs used?
You can trim the bumpstops some or you could get better springs, or both.

With your weight, you're prolly riding on the bumpstops and the loud bang is your shocks bottoming out

Your options are:
1) different, stiffer springs
2) new shocks (waste of money since the springs accelerate their demise)
3) hose mod (top and bottom) with isolators - will give you .25" or so of travel

...or live with it

Sounds like the typical Eibach install. If you don't like hitting the rear bump stops, you can either install rear springs that don't have as much drop (the Eibachs tend to drop the rear more than advertised), or you can ditch the bump stops. I don't recommend ditching the bump stops though.

I bought the springs brand new. The loud bang was the old bump stop having the rubber MIA therefore metal on metal. If I completely remove the bumpstop i will have 3.5" of clearance. Will new Bilsteins help this out and maybe raise it a touch? New from BMR is only $159 I believe.

I have more clearance than that with my car on pro kit. Think the car rides pretty decent. I did remove the aluminum spacer on the bump stops to give that little extra but even then gas several inches of travel. My car is on 19s but overall size of tie is no smaller than stock 17s. My rear fender measures 26.5" from the ground on both sides (with sporting isolator in)

i have prokit in front of my car, used from a lt car.. and bmr, hose mod in the rear.. i like it alot only get the bang on big bumps.. i put the prokit on the rear took it around the block and took them back out.. rides better than they hotchkis i had on the front too

That makes no sense how you are almost .50" lower than me in the rear but with more clearance? something else I need to do? or do you hit your bump stops quite a bit too?

That bad eh? the car feels like its sitting lower in the rear, I guess its the sagging effect. How do I do the hose mod?

If you have a real SS it will have an aluminum spacer between the bump stop and the mount.

Remove the aluminum spacer to get your clearance.

Yeah, I will have to order them next week I think. Even with new springs I am at 26-1/2" on the left rear and 26-7/8" on the right rear. just re-measured

idk how ur measuring your height but i did mine from the bottom of the center of wheel well to ground and front is 25 7/16 and rear is 25 5/8..
