Default My 5th gen Brembo brake upgrade with cost/info (pic heavy)

Most of it has been covered on here before but just wanted to share my swap.

5th gen Brembos/Rotors new take offs from SLP on ebay - $475 Shipped
Caliper Mounting Bolts(part #11570788)M14x2.0 some big bolts lowes/home depot don't carry M14. - $17 from local dealer
Rotor center hub bored out to 70.6mm - $80 from local machine shop(a rip for 20 mins of work...but just wanted it done)
Swap braided hoses from Kore3 - $76 Shipped
Brembo caliper decals from ebay - $4 Shipped

= $652 for the entire swap. A very fair price for GREAT brakes. Unfortnetly because of my clutch woes i can't really drive the car but some quick testing in my neighborhood and it would almost lock the front tires. Great pedal feel as well.

I already had the 9/16 drill bit for the spindle. The caliper mounting bolts will require a thick spacer so that the bolts don't bottom out on inside of rotor. Brake line hose brackets will need to be bent down slightly. I removed the silly pad weights to clear the wheels. The front wheels are XXR 962s 18x8.5" unsure of my offset. I needed a 1/4" spacer which i already had.

Enjoy.

Thanks, yes a noticeable difference in my neighborhood. But like I said I can't really drive the car. I'm mainly looking forward to see how it does in the mountains under hard repeated braking. These brakes work very well on 4000lb car so I'm excited to see how it does with a 3400lbs.

looks great, really like how they look behind your wheels. curious, are you using the original caliper mounting bolts? The bolts on my swap dont come close to the rear of the rotor.

Off my old calipers? Those were M12 if i recall. The bolts I used are for a 2010-12 SS.

Any idea on getting this upgrade or something similar (say 07 or 09 CTSv) for the rear?

Other then cosmetics i don't really see the need to upgrade the rears. Thanks for the compliments guys. Hopefully i'll have some more feedback once car is moving around on it's own power again.

C5 brakes are nice, i thought my old c5z came with great brakes and pads from factory. Only downfall was fade which would happen after a few hard laps at my local road course. Having driven several cars with brembos and needing brakes soon i opted to spend a little more then the c5 setup and go with brembos. The consistent pedal feel and bigger rotor to dissipate the heat were my biggest reasons.
