Default car pulls all over the road, what fixes that?

Ive owned 4 different 4th gen f-bodys and they have all pulled really hard all over the road. I assume its a result of the wide 17" wheels and tires.... It is a hassle just getting around town because Im always having to fight the car and keep both hands on the wheel just to keep from ending up in the ditch.. It follows every line and dip in the road. I hate it. what, if anything can be done about this? some kind of suspension parts or something?

put a set of 205/65-15's on it and have 3/32nds of toe in dialed into the alignment. Otherwise, it is going to hunt on the grooves. It is a characteristic of these cars, some are better, some are worse, but the wider and lower profile the tires, the worse it usually is.

FWIW, I have had 275/40/17's and it has always driven straight. I had to drop the kmember for a oil pan leak and ended up screwing up the alignment in the front end. The car was all over the place. The other day I took it to the shop and finally got a front end alignment. Now the car is back to its normal self--I can take my hands off the wheel and it will drive in a nice line. I'd think that that is all your car needs. I'm even driving on some bald, tractionless tires as well.

I know what you mean. New England's roads suck too. Even the highways are uneven!

I live in NH, I know about salt and temp swings. We've got plenty of crappy roads around here as well, but it's not nearly as bad as MI. Or at least, it wasn't. I haven't been in MI since I graduated in '98.

I have to second this view. But 205's are going a bit far; all your really need are some 225/60-16's, along with the toe in of course. My third gen did it a lot worse than either of my 4th gens BTW.

Went to Kettering University in Flint. Formally GMI Institute of Technology. (Was GMI when I started, Kettering when I finished) Flint was... an interesting experience.

I was "extreme" to make a point. If I said 235/55-16's, nobody would have understood (and it still would hunt somewhat).

LOL try my setup its I definately can NEVER relax at the wheel. I like getting into the Vert with the 275's all the way round much easier to drive. But some new tires and a good front end setup\alignment does help with 275's at least it did on my 93!

Experiment with tire pressures. Sometimes a little too much or too less can make quite a difference. 30 psi COLD is a good starting point and the recommended rate.

Get the roads fixed. Or travel on smoother roads. If all else fails us 16" rims/tires combo. Sorry for the JK.
