Default What torque arm to buy?

I recently picked up a moser 9" for 98 camaro and since I no longer daily drive it my plan is to eventually run a set of DR's on it. Since im planning on swapping the rear in next weekend I thought a new tubular torque arm and relocaion bracket to get it off the trans would be a smart idea to do at the same time. Ive looked at a few different sites and vendors and the umi piece (link below) seemed like the best deal to me for what all it is. Id love to hear some other opinions on this piece or if you went with another companies set-up and how much you like/dislike it, why you bought it etc? If you have something bad to say though about a sponsor on this site feel free to PM me if you dont feel comfortable posting in the thread. Thanks in advance guys

Nothing bad to say about UMI, period. I run their adjustable TA in my car and absolutely LOVE it. That coupled with the fact Ramey is always a phone call away makes it a no brainer in my mind.

GREAT folks to do business with.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but is there any real benefit going with an adj. TA at stock ride height?

If you have one of our BMR torque arm relocation crossmember it is better to use an adjustable torque arm because it will allow you to adjust the pinion angle when you move the front torque arm mount up and down. Many people don't realize that as you move the front torque arm mount up it down that it changes the pinion angle quite a bit.

Related question...
Who offers the best torque arm and crossmember setup for true dual exhaust? Specifically one for running an X pipe and 3" duals.

Currently using a double adjustable UMI setup with god awful ground clearance. Scraped the body mount crossmember and bent underbody mount points at factory ride height!

I'm running UMI relocation and adjustable TA and I have no issues... Your ground clearance issue completely baffles me.

Could just be the crap roads I drive down and gas stations with the steep driveways. Think i'll just modify what I have and save several hundred bucks for something else.

Those are definitely some solid number for a 6 speed car!

There are a lot of people out there that question this setup for track use but we have a bunch guys like yourself that are really beating on their cars and getting some good track numbers out of them. IMHO this is the ideal setup because it awesome for street use and is pretty quiet but it can also handle power and thro down some good track times.

Agreed. I'll never go to a short TA. I DO drive on the street predominantly, and studderin has shown you can still run great with a full length.

I'd run a TA relo kit and a full length. Take the stress off the tailshaft of your trans with the relo kit.

It is a great combination of parts that is proven to work not matter what kind of driving you want to do with your car.

We appreciate your feedback!
