Default strut removal - big headache

So I set up to do my brakes and struts yesterday. Started on the pass side, found bad sway bar links and ball joints while I was in there. Replaced everything, no problem. I started the drivers side, and now I'm in trouble. Pulled the ball joint and sway link with no problem, but the strut is giving me a huge headache. Removed 3 of the 4 upper strut mount nuts/studs. Now the inside stud is stuck. Bad. The problem is that the threaded sleeve that the stud goes into has broken loose, and is just spinning with the bolt. To make things worse, its a round sleeve that I can't get a set of vice grips on. Its a grade IV bolt, so drilling it out is a last ditch solution. I'm going to end up doing more damage to the strut tower if I do that. I really need suggestions. Its a tight space around the sleeve, so my access for tools is extremely limited.
