Default support above panhard rod

how important is this support ? i have had a few people ask me and i dont know what to say lol

It's there to reinforce the pandhard body bracket against side loading (and deformation). It's important.

Some people run without it but on a street driven car I would leave it.

"...run without it..." as in drag racing correct? Street, autox, road race, you definitely should have it there.

you can get the Founders Performance piece for even added stability.. plus its designed to work with true duals over the axle

i knew it supported that panhard mnt . i still have it on my car etc but i got asked a few days ago from a friend that was changing his gas tank and the bolts broke , he asked me if it was imp and or if he could fly without it .i assume with some added gussets and or support ya could do away with it . is there a better aftmkt one out there ?

I removed mine. So have my buddies, I would reinforce the mount though if you want to be safe.

Lol how did he break those bolts, they are heavy duty..

Torquing to 200?

OP is from new york so i would assume rust, something us socal guys dont really need to worry about.

That brace has been gone on my car for 10+yrs w/o issue. My car is lowered and I moved my panhard up to the brace hole(had to shorten the ph bar) to get the roll center closer to center.

yes im in ny lol , he broke the bolts at the chassis end of it and there only a 8 mm bolt and rusty lol . i went up today and drilled out old bolts and fixed it . he was gonna have me weld it back to the chassis but if he ever had to drop tank again he would be grinding for awhile .
