Question on caliper painting...
Question for you guys that have painted your calipers.
Do you paint the calipers AND the caliper bracket as well? I'm installing new pads so everything is coming off anyway.
Not sure if the paint on both the caliper AND the bracket would affect anything (in terms of everything fitting ok) when it all gets put back together.....
Thanks!!
Dan

I've painted many calipers and brackets, I always use a high temp red - just a personal preference.
Do it right! I remove bracket, remove pads and lift up calipers and hang with wire hanger from inside fender well, and brush them all with a large wire wheel on a power drill, basically scrub the hell out of them with the wire wheel. I guess you could use a wire brush. It knocks off everything and will smooth the metal out a little, I clean them up with alcohol and when it dries those parts will be cleaner than they have ever been. I mask everything off inside well and inside caliper, spray at all angles light coats, have a beer and relax between coats or it will run. Nice and slow. If you add stickers to calipers, make sure all is dry to the touch. Touch up: spray a little paint in the cap and apply with a qtip.
lastly, nothing worse than painted calipers that are dirty as sheit. switch to ceramic pads, and It takes an extra 5 mins to wipe calipers and brackets when washing car.
