Need help on lowering setup

Like the post says, to preface this, I do not race, take it to the track or drag. This is my DD to work but I really want to close the gap on the wheels a little bit. I considered just swapping the springs for a 1" lowering spring, but am now looking at doing the struts and shocks. Also the car has 17X9.5 fronts and 18X10.5 rears. Do you think I'll need to roll my fenders if I lower it? Ive also noticed that the pass side sits lower currently than the drivers. So I figured after I lowered it I'd get an adjustable panhard bar at the same time. These are what I'm looking at on my budget:

Springs BMR 1"

Shock/Strut

Yellow sport - They look cheap but are more on my budget and should be better than the OEM's?

Monroe's

Founder performance panhard

Does anyone know the difference between those silver KYB and black KYB's?

You've found quite a few strange things here.
The BMR 1" lowering springs have been discontinued years ago, so unless Summit racing's ebay store has stocked up on them I doubt they actually have those.
Next is the $100 set of Koni yellow sports (although the picture is wrong), if those really are koni yellow's then thats roughly ~$700 cheaper than what everyone else can legally sell them for via contract with Koni. Thats one hell of a find, but you know what they say about things that are too good to be true...
The other shocks are OEM replacements and not worth the time or money to replace the shitty stock decarbons with equally (or worse) shitty autozone shocks, and will NOT deal with lowering springs very well (loose, bouncing, and not a very long lifespan).
Bottom of the barrel quality performance shocks can be found here:
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=20&ModelID=7
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=20&ModelID=7
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=20&ModelID=7
With the last one (the AGX's) having poor quality but are adjustable (adjust rebound and compression with the same knob though).
Higher end quality performance shocks that will have amazing handling and more than enough to deal with lowering springs:
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=20&ModelID=7
-Wait for these to go on sale, you'll save ~$100. The double adjustable versions of these were put on the production 1LE package (handling package) cars.
Prices for good shocks only go up from there.

Get off ebay and look at some of the sponsers on here. Im sure Sam Strano could hook you up with a solid DD setup. Im not saying its will be as cheap as the stuff u posted, but all the stuff u posted is crap other then the Panhard or its been discontinued.

The yellow sport springs, are not KONI's, I know that.

The 1" springs have been discontinued but I can still find them online, because I only want a 1" drop.

I know everyone says wait save for good shocks instead of doing the work twice..

Would you recommend the KONI STR.T or the Bilsteins?

Sam Strano 02-13-2014 12:30 PM

I carry both. I like the Koni STR.T's but they are now on a backorder and it looks like a few months until they arrive (none in transit, when they get in transit it's a month until they arrive in the US). I have some Bilstein's in stock. FWIW.
