Default Cannot get UMI solid motor mounts to line up

Been trying to get these things in for 2 saturdays now. First i got the passenger side all bolted up. When i went to put the bolt through the driver side it is a half hole off. I could almost get it pryed over but no luck. Next i undid the passenger side and bolted up the drivers side first, now i have he same issue on the passenger side. My next plan was to pull the intake and lift the motor up from the top, right now ive been working with a jack from the bottom.

Any other tips? Am i over looking something? Ive never had something that should be so simple give me such a fit

Hello,

I will be glad to help.

How old are the mounts? I ask because we had a few sets go out with "UP" engraved on the wrong side. The mount is perfect but when engraving they got put in the machine wrong. If you can PM me e-mail address I will send instructions to show which way is up.

Second, is this in the factory k-member or aftermarket?

My buddy had the same issue mounting his engine. You can try mounting everything in the car while the bolts are loose so there is some wiggle room. once in and where you want it,then torque them down.

Loosen everything related to it, including where they bolt to the motor and or k member. Solid and even polys can be such a pain in the ***. The more stuff that is tightened, the less chance you have of them lining up.

The mounte are a couple of years old. Funny you mention that , i did a search and saw where one of you guys said the thin side should be down towards oil pan. Pretty sure "up" is engraved on the thin side. Bet i got a pair from that batch. Will check tomorrow

How close are they? I ground down the tips of the thru bolts to give them more of a point, haven't had a problem since, and they have been out a few times.

I did get a set that were engraved wrong. Flipped them over and lined right up
