Downgrading front brakes from c5 to stock
the PO installed c5 calipers on my 00 SS and im going back to stock to run my 15" weld rts wheels. so here's my checklist I need to go back to stock, jw if im missing something.
new spindles (since the one mounting ear was cut off for the c5 bracket to fit
calipers/rotors
pads
Anything else? also what does a used c5 front brake kit go for since mine will be for sale soon lol.

Technically the C5 calipers are the same physical size as Fbody's, so you wouldn't *need* to get 98-02 calipers, you could just run the C5 ones on the fbody spindle with fbody pads and rotors.
Also, if the brake line was replaced with a longer one, you may need shorter ones depending on the slack. It's obviously not good if the brake line gets caught on something lol

I hope the stock ls1 calipers are smaller because there's noo way that my wheels (15 weld rts)will clear the corvette calipers. I even tried with a spacer and it wont sit flush. its currently on factory 17" chrome zr1's.
looking for a cost effective way to making these wheels fit without buying drag brakes.

Im not sure this has any bearing or not, but did the PO install the brake conversion bracket that goes with the c5 upgrade? If so and they are still on that might be why the wheel is still hitting. just my .02.

From looking at a few threads, I think you need either drag brakes or to grind down the stock calipers in order to fit 15 inch wheels. Here's one thread I found: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...ag-wheels.html
I think it really depends on how the wheels are cast and what wheel you are using, but 15 inch is a tight fit for stock brakes.

Realistically I think $250 for the whole setup would be a really fast sale. Around $350-400 if you want to sit on it. BMR and UMI both used to sell C5 swaps for 4th gens (not including spindles) for around $700-800 with new with all high performance goodies (hawk pads, choice of rotors, brand new calipers, brackets, hardware, ect.)
