Makes jackstand placement very easy.

That is one of the best parts of my SLP SFC's. It makes jacking the car simple.

Has anyone noticed that the similar design of the BMR boxed and the UMI design?

Although they are the same/similar, from what I have seen in pics that the UMI SFC's might not hang as low.

Can anyone comfirm this maybe Ryan could chime in

I love my SLP boxed SFC's. As the others mentioned, makes the car much eaiser to jack up. They even saved my car one time when I drove off the ramps like an idiot.

I just got the tubulars. Can you jack the car up using the tubulars?

Couldn't have said it any better...

Hello No Juice,

Our boxed style is very similar to BMR with some minor changes. I have only actually seen a few BMR sets installed and some pictures. The box style doesnt hang quite as low as every one seems to think, there is no clearance lost and no rubbing issues to be concerned about. On a stock car your Y-pipe is going to hang lower then the SFC's them selfs, any aftermarket header set up with also hang lower. I have measured ours to hang approx 1/2" lower then the pinch weld, not very noticable. I think over the years BMR has changed there design slighty, that may be why some seem to hang lower then others but I can't confirm that. If you have any other questions please ask, I am glad to help.

Regards,
Ryan

I think the KBB's are too thin. The SLP set is much beefier and should resist twisting better than the KBB's. This is just based on observation, I've not measured the stiffness of either version (though we did have a big thread about this about a year ago).

There was a SFC thread a few months back when I chimed in and said "Wouldn't it be great if someone did a scientific comparison of different SFC styles from all the companies". Well, I guess Consumer Reports and GM High Tech Performance weren't listening because I haven't seen the article yet. As a consumer I'd like to know if the Kenny Brown style increases chassis torsional stiffness by 20% and the SLP style is good for 30%, but all we have to go on is subjective personal impressions from (the highly respected) trackbird and other owners with first hand knowledge.

Dammit though, I'd still like to see that magazine article
