Default Anyone have a tubular k-member care to opinionate?

im interested in getting one from BMR to cut down on weight but i dont know the advantages and disadvantages, if there are any, of them.

how much less do they weigh than my stock k member?

about how much time can i expect to gain in the quarter?

would i have to buy anything else to supplement it or will it bolt right up to everything else? (A-Arms etc)

how do they compare as far as strength

is there any extra road noise?

also, can anyone post some pics of one installed? thanks

I like my BMR setup. Less weight is easier to push down the track.

I don't have one, but several others have said it made it possible to drop the oil pan with the engine in the car. If you can find one made of Chromoly, it will be even lighter than the mild steel versions.

I also have a pro fab one, and like it. There is a GP right now on them for 265. Alot cheaper than bmr.

I have the BMR one. Saved about 25lbs over the stocker, and bolted up to the stock a-arms. Install was a pain...
good luck...

Well, I recently out a BMR K-member in my LT1. Much lighter than stock, but I only lifted them, I did not weigh them. I stayed away from the A-Arms due to cost and not really needing them. I would say that the front end seems to come up more due to less weight upon acceleration. I will also warn you that it will take longer to align the thing b/c there are not slots for the alignment tools to "Grab" took almost 3 hours to get my car aligned, cost about $90. The plug access is awesome, and it looks like header clearance will be good as well. You do not have any protection for the steering components up front. Overall, very happy with the unit. On the road the front end seems to float or push a little bit more, but not really a big deal.

Check out my webpage for pictures.
