Default Factory vs tubular k member

Does the factory K member provide any more protection for the oil pan if you were to come down hard from a wheel stand? I'm trying to figure out if there is any drawback from using a tubular k member when I do my motor swap

The UMI tubular K-Member has a secondary tube that hangs slightly lower to protect oil pans from breaking after a wheelstand.

This customer said it not only held up to the abuse, but saved his vehicle on two occasions. All components of the K-member manufactured in house in Pennsylvania from USA material!

Perfect, was trying to figure out if because it typically covers LESS of the pan if it opens you up to more damage

And UMI was the only k-member manufacturer that told me I use it as a jacking point. Everyone else advised against it.

As long you're comfortable with the position of you jack it would be fine. Wouldn't hurt to use the jack there.

I typically just use me "sub-frame connectors" mount point to jack. I used quotations because it's debatable if they really are subframe connectors haha

You must not have spoke with us... we have no issues with jacking the car from the k-member. Our mild steel unit is 22 pounds, the CM is 17.

True story... most are not a true frame connector. The MWC sfc set is for sure a true connector.

I really don't understand the reasoning to lift the car by the k-member. There are so many other more stable and safer spots to lift these cars up at.
