Are poly bushings really worth it.
Im thinking of upgrading the front A-arms on my car with poly, but dont really know if I should waste my time and money on them and just go with a rod ended aftermarket set up. Im not looking for a world of difference, just want to take some of the slop out of the front end.

Well poly does have its benefits and disadvantages, but overall its a good upgrade and they will last pretty much forever.
I still have stk a-arms but probably the rods would be the better set up I am guessing. However with the rod ends you will lose some ride comfort and may get some road noise, a good poly bushing shouldnt do this. At least that is how it works in the rear.

Make sure you use white lithium or silicone based grease to lube them.
As for there effectiveness they do not degrade over time like rubber and they are much stiffer.
As an example. I put POLY bushing on my Pontiac GTPs front anti roll bar and endlinks. Later on I upgraded to a bar that was 6mm larger and used the rubber bushings and endlinks it came with.
The 6mm larger bar with rubber bushings reduced roll slightly *less* than the stock bar with poly bushings.
They squeak like a sum'bitch when not lubed. And will go to hell if you don't lube them properly.
good luck
