Default UMI k-members - can you use to jack up car

Just as the title says can you use it to jack up the front of the car like I did with the stocker?

This is the std k-member not the road race version

UMI ?

I do. But I have the double bar road-race version. Call UMI and ask them.

I purchased their road race model as well and made sure to ask before I bought it. They said it was fine for the RR and regular, but recommended putting a piece of wood or some other similar material between the jack and the bar to help cushion it and prevent marring. I've jacked it up by the k member tons of times and it hasn't shown any signs of wear.

UMI ?
Pretty simply put, Yes you can jack the car up by the K-member.

The key is to use common sense when doing it like any other application of jacking a car up.

The block of wood mentioned above is so that the jack doesn't slip.

If you are planning on leaving it jacked up for any length of time i wouldn't recommend leaving it supported by the K-member there are plenty of better options for supporting or jacking up a car other than the k-member.

Craig is spot on. Use wood or a thick towel or rubber under it. That double tube design will hold a Freightliner.

I have a single tube chromoly PA racing unit. It would probably take it, but I dont do it. Just use the stock jacking points if you need to lift the car. Alternatively, I use ramps whenever possible also.
