Default Steering wheel keeps losing its centering

I've had 3 alignments in about 2 months because the steering wheel keeps losing it's centering. The last time the tech said the passenger side LCA bolt was tight, but somehow still moved. Is there anything physical that might be wrong such as worn parts, or would this only be an issue with incorrectly performed service? It seems like it loses it's centering when I'm backing out of a parking spot and then turning the wheel pretty sharply... sometimes I'll hear a dull 'pop' and then within maybe a day the steering wheel is fubar again.

Check the K member bolts. If they are lose, the lower control arms can move, even if the control arm bolts are tight.

Back in the shop. The same bolt on the driver side LCA slid in the slot. It calls for 75ft-lbs, but he tried 80-ft-lbs and it wouldn't budge. Removed the nut with the integrated washer and found that the inside surface of the washer was not gripping well based upon what parts of the washer were polished. We'll improvise and monitor.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your control arm hardware. The stock stuff stretches and will allow the arms to move. Higher grade hardware provides more clamping force to keep the arms located

I don't want aftermarket arms. Am I to infer you sell the referenced hardware kit without arms? If yes, link?

Replace, maybe. Upgrade though? Stock suspension hardware is grade 10.9, nothing wrong with it. There's plenty of us rolling around on stock bolts with no issues.

Stock hardware is also 10+ years old and has been tightened and re-used an undetermined amount of times. This causes the bolt to stretch and lose clamping load. Every time I have had a customer that has re-used stock hardware with an aftermarket arm, either in a stock or aftermarket k-member, the arms have slipped during driving. The consistent fix is upgrading the hardware. The stock bushings have serrations to dig into the k-member to help with keeping them located.

Is that a kit for the both LCA's, or do I need two of those kits?

Curious as to if it's the horizontal or vertical bolt that keeps moving?

Normally the horizontal slips first. But usually they both end up moving

On mine it was the horizontal bolt.
