Ha! Drive an LT1 and you'll appreciate those brakes you have on now.

Most cost effective way is to try a good pad and rotor combo on your current setup and bleed your brakes with new fluid as well. If that doesn't satisfy you, a brake upgrade kit is your next best bet however it gets more pricey. I believe the LS1 brakes are perfectly capable for a F-Body anyways, I've seen an F-Body with a C5 conversion brake kit up front lock up the front tires on a course multiple times, and that's something you don't exactly want to do. He was running an alright sticky tire too

Good pads plus quality blank rotors, done. Slowing down after a drag strip pass is a joke...

A good blank rotor with upgraded pads on front will do the trick. Something basic like a Hawks HPS or 5.0 up front will be an upgrade to the stock pads and will suffice for your purposes.

If you have more tolerance for dust/noise on the street, the Hawk DTC-30 is a track pad with decent street manners (doesn't eat up rotors like most track pads). Held up to plenty of repeated stops from 145+ on the back straights at Road Atlanta.

I did blank rotors (bendix) and Hawk HPS pads all around for under $300 last year. Love em. Quieter than factory brakes and lots less dust. better stopping too. win-win

IMHO Hawk pads are not that great. Carbotech is better for pure stopping power. Could be a little dusty but not rusty dust.

To Chris' point above, Carbotech is a better pad for pure stopping power. They are also slightly more expensive than Hawks.

You should look at G-LOC Brakes. 2 brothers left Carbotech and started their own brake pad company.
