Default Torque Arm Relo? How prevalent is trans breakage?

I understand the idea of taking the stress off of the transmission by bolting the torque arm to the chassis instead. My question is, how prevalent is cracking the tail of the transmission on f-bodys? I'm sure it can happen, but does it really happen to bolt on cars? I'm pretty stock, just a lid and pulley. Have 4.10's and headers to install. Running NTO5R's. Is relocating something I should think about doing? Ideally I'd like to start taking it to the track a couple of times per year.

It happens a lot more than you'd imagine even in stock form.

Is it from launching, hard shifting, just general fatigue?

Yes, it is a very real thing. I literally ripped the bolt out of the casted boss on the top of my trans in a headers/cutout/tune/drag radial car that made 330whp. Torque arm made a terrible sound as it slapped the bottom of the trans tunnel too

Combination of all of the above. I was not easy on my car for months before it happened. When it did, was on the 1-2 shift at the track.

What happens at that point? The rear is still located by the LCA's, no?

Should be an upgrade anytime you want to dig race in a drag radial or better tire.

It is still located under the car, but is very unstable. There are no solid mounting points left holding the axle in place and it can freely rotate and move under the car. I was able to drive mine off the track and back to the pits after it happened very slowly, and made an emergency temporary repair to get it home.
