Thumbs up New Control Arms, Panhard Bar & Relocation Brackets installed on our 2002 Z28

I wanted to post a few pictures of a recent installation we completed. These are just simple items that can be done in your home garage or driveway.

Our 2002 Z28 is driven by my step mother and she loves this car. Her and her car work excellent as a test bed for street UMI products because she doesn't want the ride of her car noisy or rough in anyway. If it does become noisy or harsh she will let us know.... immediately.

She had mentioned a few times about a clunk from the rear of the car. When we put the car in the garage for winter the guys also noticed a clunk when moving the car around in the garage. After taking a look under the car we quickly found the problem... control arm bushings.

We decided now was a great time to upgrade the control arms, panhard bar and since the car is now lowered add a set of relocation brackets. On a lowered car the relocation brackets allow us to position the control arm back to it's factory angle as if it was factory height.

Below are before pictures and the control arm bushings. One sleeve was loose and out while one bushing completely fell out.

Here's where the installation of these three items begins. I won't go into detail on how to install these items but if anyone has a question please feel free to ask and we are happy to help.

The three P/N's we used are 2015, 2020 and 2012. We picked red but they are also available in black.

Here's the installation completed. On a lift it took Roger less than an hour to install all three items.

The only note I wanted to add was grease the bushings good before the installation, the outer portion of the bushing, not the grease fitting. This allows the control arms and panhard to slide into place easy with out damage and helps movement when installed. Once installed add 2-3 pumps of grease to each end before tightening the bolts. Tightened all the bolts with the suspension fully loaded.

We plan on continuing to add items to the car over time. Stay tuned. Bump stops look worse in picture than they actually were.
