New Item: Strano Performance Parts Master Cylinder Brace for all 93-02 cars
#141
I drug my car out of storage this morning and gave it a work out. I haven't touched it in 5 months but I could still notice a difference in brake pedal feel. Couldn't notice any change in the clutch.
(I'm running LS fronts with stainless lines and Hawk pads and the stock LT1 rear setup).

I can't say I see a big difference in the clutch myself but if some do, that's great. I see a huge change in the brakes though.

This is now on a very short list of must-have's for the car. Thanks, Sam!
The effect this kit has is profound. I purchased this for my daily driver after starting a longer highway commute to work. After a few panic stops in rush hour and getting the feeling of stepping on an aluminum can, (vs. a real brake pedal) I needed a change.
The panic stops in rush hour still happen but it's amazing how much more in-control I feel now as I slam on the brakes and watch my life flash before my eyes.

What most folks don't seem to realize is "rubber" lines are rubber coated, they aren't rubber like say a coolant hose. They are already braided, just the braid is fiberglass not stainless, the rubber is the covering. And the lines are short, particularly in the rear so the expansion isn't huge. It's there, but not huge. FAR less than the movement of the Master on the firewall.

Just ordered one for myself. My pedal already feels amazing with SS lines up front, CTS-V 4 piston calipers, 14" rotors, and some Castro SRF fluid. I'm excited to see how much more this will help, next weekend I'll be installing this along with SS lines in the rear.
Now if only my damn ABS can stop being so sensitive, but that's my fault, too big of a tire diameter difference from front to rear.
Chris,

What pads? If you use too grabby a pad, that causes issues. Like everything it's a system, and part of the issue with the kits that use calipers not specifically designed to replace a 2 piston caliper, is that you can end up with some brake imbalances and other issues.
Those calipers were never put on anything in place of and with a Master Cylinder that is meant for 2 piston calipers. The Wilwood calipers I use are specifically designed for that purpose. And yes, if you have a tire diameter discrepancy that wrecks havoc on ABS function.

The pads are Hawk HPS's. I had this setup and never had ABS issues until I installed the taller rear tires, so im 99% sure it's the tire diameter causing the problem. IIRC, my rears are 26.4" tall (305/30/18), and my front are 25.7" (275/40/17).
For those interested, here is a little before and after I did with the Strano Master Cylinder Brace.
Before

After
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw...kRjOUdOS3V6Nlk
As you can see in the second video, the flex is significantly reduced, however now it actually flexes the whole brace and strut tower...which is kinda crazy. Not sure how I feel about that lol.

And interesting before/after. You must have legs like tree trunks! That's without the power assist too.
Pretty clear that you are actually flexing the tower some, which is crazy.

Pretty clear the difference your product makes. Driving around normally can't really tell a difference, but with medium to high braking the pedal is noticeable firmer. I took it out the other night and tested it with a few panic stops. The ABS fights hard to keep the fronts from locking up, pretty clear traction is my biggest braking limitation right now.
I'm scared what will happen with 315/30/18 Toyo R888's that I plan to put on it...The amount of stress that amount of traction will give the front suspension is scary to think about, the car might just catapult lol. Have you experienced any issues with too much traction (Besides wheel bearings)?

I haven't posted an image in a long time, hopefully this works. I got my brace installed a couple of days ago and took it our for a drive last night. I really like the way the brakes feel now. Before I installed it I had my wife push on the brakes so I could see the flex. If it wasn't for this forum, I would still be wondering why my brakes feel weird sometimes. Thanks for the quick shipping and for the brace itself

Another success story! Thanks for comments and the picture too.
I'm very glad you find it to be a help.

I tested my MC out yesterday and it doesnt really move forward, but it does move up towards the hood...
would this still be a good buy?... its nowhere near as bad as the video you have on the front page of this thread.
EDIT: watched the video again and mine does the same thing LOL , guess a brace is in my near future
